Communications Overload - 5 Ways Unified Communications Can Help

1. Video:In our office, video calls are the rule, not the exception. We’ve found meetings are shorter with video and more engaged--no one is interrupting or talking over each other, as is common with audio-only conference calls.

1.5 With these video chats, we often do ‘show and tell’ by sharing our screen. This allows everyone to see a document/presentation in real-time. It does take a few times to master it, but once you do, it’s wonderful!

2. Presence monitoring: Are you available? With a unified communication solution, your phone system can automatically look at your calendar to see if this time is booked. If it is, it will automatically hold all incoming calls/chats/communications until your next free slot. 3. Voicemail-to-Text: I’ve got 99 voicemails… but listening to all of them isn’t a problem. And that’s because my unified communications system has already translated them to text, delivered them to the ‘voicemail folder’ in my email and when I delete each message, it’s automatically deleted from the system.

3.5 Some people talk too much and leave long voicemails :( So if a voicemail is over X time (1 minute), a unified communication system can warn you, because it may be faster just to email the person.

4. Secure Chat: Not everything needs to be emailed or a phone call, sometimes a quick “hey do you have this” is all you need. With secure chat, this is always available.

5. Phone calls: From anywhere from any device, even a CORDED PHONE! Every Unified Communication solution has a mobility app that allows you to make calls via your cell phone while not in the office will show your office caller ID, so not everyone has your cell phone number.
